Pictures will be added all this week...so check back for more fun pictures during restaurant and food week :)
We just finished learning about family members in Spanish. We learned how to say different family members like "mother," "father," "brother," "sister," and other members down the line. They also learned a new verb "tengo" meaning "I have," which lead to them writing a short paragraph in Spanish about their family. It was exciting to see the students wanting to learn more. They were asking for new words and ways to build even bigger and more elaborate sentences. I hope that we can expand on this and the student's willingness to learn Spanish grows even more.
That wraps up fiesta week and studying Mexico! We had food, pin the tail on the donkey, and a ringtoss or "sombrero toss." We had a lot of fun. I posted pictures of the week's festivities on my website. Next country we will explore is Spain.
For the next few weeks, we will start to touch base on more vocabulary and make sentences with that vocabulary. We will look at family, food, and more animals. Trivia week was so much fun! The kids seemed to enjoy it and so did I. It was a great and fun way to review the past few weeks.
Next week, we will be wrapping up our country of the month and moving on to a new one. We will celebrate Mexico by throwing a fiesta. There will be games, food, and music. I can't wait to celebrate with them! This week is game week! I am going to have a trivia game with each class. I will split them up into two groups and ask them multiple questions to earn points for their team. Winning team will earn treats. I have been giving out worksheets every class, so all questions will be from the material talked about in class or given to them
